In first Day of the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 had designers Varun Bahl instilling a ‘transparent’ curved to his bridal collection and JJ Valaya animating the drapes in Turkish style, the first show on Day 2 with Ashima-Leena as the demonstrating designer duo spelled royal magic on the ramp. Titled ‘Raag Rattan’, Ashima-Leena Collection celebrated Indian inheritance and tradition in contemporary make-up with modern and cutting edge styles.
From shades of whites and creams enhanced by bold accents and beaten gold work, models Jesse Randhawa, Sonalika Sahay, Pia Trivedi and former Miss India Manasvi Mamgai among others cocked down the ramp in dainty garments comprising saris, lehengas, shararas, anarkalis and full-length skirts.
Music, fashion and beauty all consolidated in an ecstatic union when the showstopper of the evening, the Kashmir ki Kali actress Sharmila Tagore shyly walked in wearing the evergreen smile on her face.
